Why genocide, why now?

Everywhere you look it seems the world is on fire, engulfed in pain and suffering, loss and misery. This shouldn't be happening. We are all called upon to alleviate suffering and indignity, to protect the weak and vulnerable, to promote justice and peace. Yet, it seems we are failing in this fundamental responsibility. The promise of Never Again was a promise to never allow evil to engulf us so thoroughly that we become a willing partner and participant in it. But evil rarely manifests in its final form, easily identifiable and rejected. It builds and grows from small, disparate points becoming ever more powerful and unified with the absence of justice and the silence of the masses. This is the march to genocide and the global suffering we are witness to today is its bitter fruit. But there is hope to stop the march and shine a light to reveal it. This is the promise of Never Again, and we intend to keep it.
